Burton Firm Dedicated to Putting Charity First

Burton on Trent pitched roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles (RRT) is again hosting its hugely successful Ryder Cup-style charity golf tournament and is back in full swing for 2022.

The roof tile manufacturer which has two sites located on both Nicolson Way and Wetmore Lane in Burton, and one in Lochmaben (Scotland) is hosting the tournament on Thursday 8th September at Horsley Lodge Golf Club, Ilkeston to raise money for RRT’s Give 4 Good initiative.  This charity campaign aims to raise a huge £50,000 this year for charities and good causes close to its three sites.

Already 90 players are signed up to take part in the tournament including teams and individuals from Wheeldon Homes, Liberty Roofing and Construction, Northwest Roofing Supplies, Steadfast Roofing, Absolute Roofing Solutions, PJ Colours, Barclays, SDN Pallets, Ecopac and Vortex.

All entrants into the tournament will be pitched against each other, with RRT England vs RRT Rest of The World who will be battling it out for the prestigious RRT Ryder Cup Trophy. There will also be extra prizes on the day for nearest the pin, nearest the pin in two, best scoring pair, and best scoring individual player.

RRT is hoping to raise £5,500 from this event alone towards the Give 4 Good initiative.

The “Give 4 Good” scheme is part of the firm’s celebration of 10 years of independence which was set up at the beginning of this year and will support an array of local charities, some of which include CALM, Burton and District Mind, Veterans Garden Dumfries and the Winshill Neighbourhood Resource Centre.

Ross Hayward, Area Sales Manager at Russell Roof Tiles has been organising the tournament since its inception in 2016. He said:

“This year, we’re really stretching ourselves to raise as much money as possible for our nominated charities and causes. The success of the golf day in previous years, is the reason why we’ve organised it again. Not only because it’s great to get everyone together, but most importantly, to raise a huge amount of money towards our Give 4 Good initiative that will support our communities.”

Last year, the charity golf tournament raised £5,000 for Shropshire, Staffordshire & Cheshire Blood Bikes.

Since 2015, Russell Roof Tiles has placed a real emphasis on supporting and raising funds for various causes and organisations close to the hearts of its staff and sites, having donated over £113,500 in the last seven years through various charity events.

Russell Roof Tiles is a leading independent pitched roof tile manufacturer providing products for leading UK house builders and high-profile social housing and commercial projects, where sustainability and eco-credentials are of the utmost priority.
